Frank McGovern: Reflections by Rick Barry and, provided by his great friend and then-IBM colleague, Bill Neale, many other friends and colleagues.
I
remember Frank McGovern in many ways: first as a colleague and client where I
served on his
advisory group when he was president of Tower Software USA. I both
advised him and learned greatly from him about all things records and electronic
records, and doing a conference seminar for him as the manager of records
management and compliance practice for Filenet, then IBM, and as a fellow member
of the National Capital Chapter of the Association for Information and
Image Management (NCCAIIM). But ultimately I remember him as a
great friend, for me most fondly from our regular lunches together in Northern Virginia haunts where we shared professional and personal
discussions and stories over lunch. This picture reflects the image of Frank that I think
of most when he comes to mind as he often does. It was taken on December 20, 2006 while lunching at the Lebanese Taverna in
Arlington, VA. Farewell Frank and God bless you. We all miss you greatly.
But he had many, many good friends and colleagues. See some of their Tributes
and Celebration of Life for Frank from his many associates and friends,
compiled by his good friend and recently retired IBM colleague, Bill
Neale. Also see details of the NCCAIIM
and No. VA ARMA Chapters Annual June Social & Baseball Game held in
Memory of Frank McGovern, on Friday, June 17, 2011 at Nationals Stadium,
Washington, DC, Nationals vs. Baltimore Orioles (pretend it is the Boston Red
Sox, Frank!) for details on that memorable afternoon NCCAIIM program and the evening game.
Members
and non-members of AIIM were invited to participate. R.B.
